Phil King

Phil first got involved with Chaz & Man's Best Friend when he got Hattie, she needed socialising and an extra boost to her confidence, so after talking it through with Chaz he did some Agility with Hattie where he began to learn how to read a dog and how to be more flexible with his training. This was when his interest in dog training really took off.

Phil needed something to take the place of playing darts for 15 years, and thought that dog training would be something he could get really interested in, he was talking to Chaz about his interest in Search and Rescue work, and low and behold Chaz new someone who actually did it, and put them in touch.

In Christmas of that year Phil and Hattie began training for search work, and to date they have been a great success, they are now on 24/7 call out, and can be called upon at any time to go anywhere in the country!

In May 2002 Phil and Pam got Ellie, to help Pam pick up things, as Pam finds bending down difficult, Phil took Ellie to classes, and found she was different again to the other dogs he had trained.

Since then Phil has attended the instructor training classes that Chaz runs for all the Man's Best Friend trainers, and has learned how to handle lots of different dogs, this was where he came across Sam, one of the Man's Best Friends rescue dogs, he is now training Sam to do agility, tracking and search work.
