CHRISTMAS
CELEBRATIONS
2003

What a beautiful day to have our Christmas Celebrations, it was sunny, with not a cloud in the sky, quite cold, but all the same we could not ask for a better day.

Graham, Irene, Michael and his children and myself all turned up at 9.30am, we had a coffee to warm us all up, then set up the agility round, and sorted out the port-a-cabin.

Nearly everyone turned up between 11am and 11.30am, and started to get ready for the fancy dress, I must say that we had so many entries that Chaz found it difficult to decide who was going to win, well done to everyone for the hard work put into the costumes.  We had 16 entries all together, 10 more than last year!

The winners in reverse order were 3rd Place – Sue with Scooby, 2nd Place – Helen with Jolly, and 1st Place was Ann with Zak (who was beautifully dressed as Rudolf with a flashing red nose!) what a fantastic turn out, we had a couple of late Fancy Dress entries, but Zak had taken centre stage.

Once everyone was ready we went straight into the party games, this was going to keep us all warm, and the first game was Musical Mats, we made sure that Chaz did not cheat this year, by keeping a close eye on him. We had so many contestants that we had to have a run off… The winners in reverse order were 2nd Place – Wendy with Radar, and in 1st Place - Mildred with Harvey. Well done!!

Next was the Timed Agility Pairs, this was the fastest and funniest game as the pairs had to go around the course in opposite directions crossing over somewhere along the course, some did it in the middle of the tunnel…!  In 2nd Place with the time of 42 seconds was Teresa with Sadie and Sue with Badger, but in 1st Place with the fantastic time of 38 seconds was Pat with Nessie and Amy with Buster…   Brilliant!!!

We then went onto the Pairs Tangerine Race (formerly known as the egg and spoon race), but as I forgot the Tangerines, we had to use pebbles.  This was also a fast and furious game for all, and the results in reverse order were in 3rd Place with 46 seconds was Sue with Badger and Teresa with Sadie, in 2nd Place with 42 seconds was Ian with Josh and David with Harvey, and in 1st Place with 40 seconds was Rachael with Scooby and Helen with Jolly.  Well done to all!

We all retired to the Port-a-cabin for drinks and food, (once again great Mulled wine Graham), and then went on to the prize giving, the Raffle was drawn first, and then we gave out the prizes.  The first of which was for the Most Improved Child Handler (Agility Class), which was won by Amy Hardy with Buster.  The Most Improved Adult Handler (Agility Class), was won by Pat with Nessie.

This years Christmas Celebrations was another resounding success, all the dogs got a prize and everyone really enjoyed themselves.  A very special thank you to all of you who helped over the year, and to all of you who turned up, we look forward to seeing you all at the next Christmas Celebrations 2004.
